Did You Know. Photoshop Font Using

Did You Know: Hints and Tips is a series where I talk about small little tips that made my life so much easier hoping to make yours easier too!
Photoshop Font Tips
Today I’m going to talk to you about using different fonts in Photoshop. Now as most of you are probably aware how to use the type tool, some things that aren’t obvious would make a good addition to your Photoshop skills.
Photoshop Font Preview
Have you been struggling with finding a nice font manager (especially on PC) or using both the manager and Photoshop? Well if you have, then it is really nice of Adobe to implement font preview in Photoshop. Now one thing that people don’t know is that you can actually change the font size in Edit-Preferences-Type (Mac: Photoshop-Preferences-Type) and have the typeface appear as big (or small) as you want. If you’re not a fan of the preview, you can always switch it off by unchecking it.

Photoshop Type Preset
Not everyone realizes that the standard Myriad Pro font that you get when choosing the type tool is just a preset Adobe gave the users and not a massive advertisement of the Myriad Pro typeface (even though it is).
Like any other preset, it can be changed. To do so, select your favorite font (say Helvetica), click on the arrow next to the big T in the upper-left corner and click on the “create new preset” icon and give your preset a name. Don’t forget that the preset remembers the font’s style, size, alignment, color, anti-aliasing method , the horizontal/vertical values, so choose wisely.

Photoshop Font Sizing
This is a rather small tweak, but I find it extremely useful. When choosing the font size for their project, people tend to either type the value in or select it from the drop-down menu, but there is a way of speeding this process up. All you need to do is click and hold the icon left to the drop-down menu and while holding move it to your left or right to decrease or increase the font size.
